Texas Battery opened for business in Lubbock, Texas as a partnership September 15, 1980. It was incorporated in 1987 as Texas Battery Co., Inc., as a Texas corporation. The company occupies a free standing facility at 3810 Avenue A (Bus. US-87) in Lubbock. There are six full time employees.
The scope of operations includes wholesale, retail, commercial and fleet sales of SLI and SLA batteries, cables, terminals, battery chargers, battery testers and related battery accessories. Regular delivery areas include West Texas, Eastern New Mexico, Western Oklahoma and Southwest Kansas. Shipments are made to customers throughout the USA. Open accounts to government and industry are available with approval. As a battery specialist the company has developed and maintained a reputation for quality product lines, knowledgeable customer service with integrity, and competitive pricing. Full service installation is performed at the storefront, as well as the immediate Lubbock metro area.
Texas Battery maintains associate memberships in Plains Cotton Growers and the Texas Cotton Ginners Association.
Texas Battery has a strong and experienced ownership and staff. Between them, they have over 95 combined years of experience in the battery and lubrication industries.
Randy Weaver was an initial founder and is still actively involved in day to day operations. A graduate of Oklahoma State University, his background prior to starting Texas Battery was in journalism and finance. He still retains farming interests that include a recognized Oklahoma Centennial Farm that has been in his family since prior to statehood. He is active in the Gideons International, and FarmHouse Fraternity.
Larry Redwine is a Lubbock native and has been with Texas Battery since 1997 coming from Douglas Battery. He has an extensive background in warehouse and inventory management and is primarily responsible for warehousing and wholesale customer relations.
Mike Duniven began his career with Texas Battery in 1999. He has been involved in automotive service and fuel station management for over 30 years. Mike is the face many of our commercial customers equate with Texas Battery and is responsible for oversight of installation and service at the storefront, as well as throughout the local service area.
Martin Torres has been at Texas Battery since 2010. With a background in direct sales and customer service, he is primarily focused on the Muscle Products line. Because his hobbies include automotive restoration, he also is very knowledgeable of application issues where batteries and equipment are involved.
Max Mayhall joined Texas Battery in 2015. Max transitions from warehouse, to the counter, to mobile on site service and installation. His background in customer service, and with many types of equipment, maintains our flexibility to service a wide variety of vehicles.
While maintaining our local and regional customer base, Texas Battery is well prepared to enlarge our primary supply role for commercial, institutional and sector-based operations as well as individual needs. The addition of wind power lubricants, premium reserve power battery lines, and more quality terminals and tools present opportunities to take our staff experience and customer focused strategy to more places and levels within the areas we already serve, as well as beyond. With soon to be 40 years of continuous service, we are commited to move into the next era of meeting customer needs.
